All makeup has an expiration date do you know when your makeup expires? Make-up was made to be used for feeling better and enhancing your natural beauty. Cosmetic products do not last forever. All products have an expiration date. Using make-up after their expiration date can cause skin irritations and/or breakouts. It is important to stick to the expiration date. Some products have a picture of an open can which indicates expiration date after the make-up was opened (picture below).
Here are some suggestions on when it’s time to throw out your makeup products
- Liquid Foundation 12 – 24 months
- Cream Foundation 2 years
- Concealer -6 months to 2 years (depends on type)
- Powders & powder blush – 1- 2 years
- Mascara –3- 6 months
- Lipstick / lipgloss – 12 to 18 months
- Lip and Eye Pencils – 12 to 18 months
- Eyeshadow – 1- 2 years
- Cream Blush – 2 years
