(VIDEO) Biggest Makeup Mistakes Women Over 40 Make

After 40, Lipstick and Foundation are your Best Friends – Be Careful not to get into trouble with them though.

HERE ARE THE TWO BIGGEST MISTAKES I see women over 40 make when it comes to Makeup:

The first one is, they wear way too much foundation. They cover their entire face like frosting on an angel food cake. This isn’t necessary and it ages you.

Pro Tip: I recommend a little foundation on a brush, and apply it in the center of your face – that’s where most discoloration is.

The second mistake is that they apply a dark lip color. As we age our lips shrink and get thinner (Even Mick Jagger will have smaller lips someday!) Dark colors on your lips will make them look even thinner.

Pro Tip: I recommend that you use lighter colors on your lips to give the illusion of fuller lips.

Are you feeling, Blah? Boring? Maybe you haven’t had a chance to exfoliate (which by the way, is my number one anti-aging skin care tip!); to get that fresh looking skin. I’ve got a beauty hack for you today.

TOP SECRET! We’re going to start with your cream or liquid foundation (it won’t work with powder or loose mineral foundation) and you’re going to go ahead and put some on the back of your hand. One pump (dime size) and then here’s the secret ingredient… it’s oil! I have the acai (ah-sigh-ee) oil with pomegranate (tomorrow I’m going to try Coconut Oil) and it’s going to take one little pump along side the foundation. Get your brush and mix it all together. “Stipple it” and it looks like beautiful flawless skin with a little bit of a glow. The oil doesn’t take away from the coverage it just makes it look more like your skin. It’s glowing. I love it! What do you think? Glowing, right? Try it! You’re going to love it!
