Hot Flashes and Night Sweats can last for years.

According to a new study of women going through menopause – hot flashes last, on average, for about seven years and may go on for 11 years or more.

Wonder Woman Has Me Like – The Power of Personal Development & Accessories

Wonder Woman knows the Power of Personal Development and the Power of Accessories.

This past weekend I saw the Wonder Woman movie.  It’s a LONG movie; 2 hours and 45 minutes.

I sat through the entire movie, eating popcorn, drinking water and NEVER got up to pee!

I ALWAYS get a seat on the isle at the movies because I ALWAYS get up to pee.  (That’s just what you do when you’re in your 50’s).

Did you know there is an APP that tells moviegoers when to pee?  It’s called Runpee.com (How cool is that?!!)

Anyways,  I’ve never been a fan of Wonder Woman.  Maybe it’s because she was a brunette?  I related more to the blonde, Bionic Woman.

(I’m a fan now!)

IN THE MOVIE she discovers her full powers and true destiny.

A couple of accessories and she made quite an Impact!

(VIDEO) Biggest Makeup Mistakes Women Over 40 Make

After 40, Lipstick and Foundation are your Best Friends – Be Careful not to get into trouble with them though.

HERE ARE THE TWO BIGGEST MISTAKES I see women over 40 make when it comes to Makeup:

The first one is, they wear way too much foundation.  They cover their entire face like frosting on an angel food cake.  This isn’t necessary and it ages you.

Pro Tip:  I recommend a little foundation on a brush, and apply it in the center of your face – that’s where most discoloration is.

The second mistake is that they apply a dark lip color.  As we age our lips shrink and get thinner (Even Mick Jagger will have smaller lips someday!)  Dark colors on your lips will make them look even thinner.

Pro Tip:  I recommend that you use lighter colors on your lips to give the illusion of fuller lips.

How Not To Look Old – The Three-Bling Rule

Too many of us make the mistake of piling on every shiny, glitzy, fancy thing we own when we get dressed for evening or a wedding.

It’s easy to overdo it.

Here’s an easy fashion rule to follow:

THE THREE-BLING RULE.

You need to count up your bling, because you are allowed only three bling points.

  • Sparkly dress (2 bling points)
  • bold necklace (1 bling)
  • earrings (1 bling)
  • shimmery metallic sandals (1 bling)
  • cocktail ring (1 bling)
  • shoes or bag (1 bling)
  • jeweled cuff bracelet (1 bling)

Remember that location matters:  You don’t want to use two bling points in close proximity.

Congratulations!  You look gorgeous!

She had the same fears you have, and I was able to help her by teaching her the 16 Pt. Accessory Rule.

I have a great way to help you gauge whether you’re wearing the right amount of accessories every day.

Here’s the thing:  It’s more than just throwing on a necklace.

There is a 16 Pt. Accessory RULE.

I learned about the 16 Pt. Accessory Rule from one of my mentors, Shari Braendel (Fashion Meets Faith), who learned it somewhere along the road of her fashion career.

This is a method where you add (or subtract) points for exactly what you are wearing.  The object is to reach 16 points when you are finished.
