Insider Secrets: What you need to know about the makeup trends you’ll see everywhere this spring…

TREND #1 – CC CREAMS:

While CC creams have become a staple for many, let’s remember that not everyone needs or desires the same level of coverage. Embrace your skin’s natural beauty and use products that enhance your unique complexion, whether it’s a lighweight CC cream or full coverage foundation.

TREND #2 – BLUSH IS BACK TO THE APPLES OF THE CHEEKS:

Who doesn’t love a rosy glow on the cheeks? While the “doll blush” trend is undoubtedly cute, remember to apply blush in a way that complements your face shape and features. Embrace your individuality and find the placement that makes you feel confident and radiant.

Expert Recommendation: Lipstick Boss Beauty Glow Cream – Available in three shades based on your personal color palette.

TREND #3 – GO MONOCHROMATIC:

While monochromatic looks can be stunning, don’t feel confined to one color palette. Pumpkin Spice, Strawberry girl and Latte makeup are all Tik Tok speak for monochromatic looks. Experiment with different shades and textures that resonate with your skin tone and personal style. Let your creativity shine and create a makeup look that’s uniquely you.

TREND #4 – USE PRODUCTS WITH HYALURONIC ACID TO BOOST MOISTURE:

Yes, Hyaluronic Acid is a skincare superstar, but remember that skincare is NOT one-size-fits-all. While it offers incredible hydration and plumping benefits, it’s essential to listen to your skin’s specific needs and preferences. Find products that work for you and incorporate them into your routine mindfully.

Expert Recommendations: DermResults Advanced Serum with Hyaluronic Acid or Holy Hydration! Serum

TREND #5 – COLORED MASCARA:

Colored mascara can be a fun way to switch up your look, but don’t feel pressured to follow trends blindly. If blue or purple lashes make you feel fabulous (like my friend Jill, who started wearing blue mascara in the 80’s and never stopped), go for it! But if you prefer classic black mascara, that’s perfectly okay too. Embrace what makes you feel beautiful and confident.

TREND #6 – CONCEALER ONLY:

While it may seem convenient to skip heavy foundation in favor of a concealer only trend, this approach can leave mature skin looking uneven and lacking vitality. As we age, our skin deserves more attention and care, and simply relying on concealer may not provide the necessary coverage and radiance. Instead of limiting ourselves to concealer alone, let’s explore makeup techniques that enhance our natural beauty while addressing the specific needs of mature skin.

TREND # 7 – OMBRE LIPS:

The 90’s are back…again! Ombre lips can add dimension and fullness to your pout, but don’t feel pressured to follow every lipstick trend that comes along! Experiment with different lip looks and find what makes you feel most comfortable and confident. Lipstick Boss Beauty has liquid lipsticks that match your color palette; when paired with a lipstick or gloss create a beautiful ombre lip.

Expert Recommendation: Lipstick Boss Beauty Lipstay Liquid Lipsticks

How To Do Ombre Lips in Two Minutes

The ombre lip trend offers a fun and fresh twist, but achieving the perfect gradient can be tricky. Start by selecting two complimentary lipstick shades – a darker tone for the outer edges and a lighter shade for the center. (A matte liquid lipstick for outer edges is easy and effective!)

  • Begin by applying the darker lipstick to the outer edges of your lips using the wand applicator for precise application.
  • Then, fill in the rest of your lips with a lighter shade (A lipgloss works well for this!), focusing on the center.
  • Gently blend the two shades together using your fingertip or a lip brush, ensuring a seamless transition between colors.
  • Voila! You’re ready to flaunt a beautifully contoured pout that adds dimension and fullness to your lips.

BONUS TREND #8 – FEATHERED BROWS:

Feathered brows may be all the rage, but it’s important to honor the unique shape and texture of your brows. Instead of chasing after trends, embrace your natural brow shape and enhance it with products that complement your features. Whether you prefer a soft, natural look or a bold, defined arch, let your brows reflect the beauty of your individuality.

The Eyebrow Trend Evolution

One of the biggest trends in beauty – brows. Why are they always messing with women’s eyebrows? Over the past several years brow styles have been bushy, bleached, bedazzled, bold and even shaped like a Nike™ logo.

Speaking of eyebrows, you’ll enjoy this story: I was doing makeup for a wedding and the bride requested makeup for her grandmother, specifically her eyebrows. Grandma was striking with her snowy white hair – yet, no eyebrows. I jumped right to it with my “taupe” colored eye brow pencil and started creating grandma’s eyebrows from scratch by using her nose, eye and ear measurements – just like I learned in makeup school. She was not happy. After two more attempts she said the color was “off”, and she gave me her own eyebrow pencil to use. It was black. Yes, you read that right, black.

Two more attempts to recreate granny’s eyebrows and no luck. “It isn’t me”, she said, then took her black eyebrow pencil and shuffled off to the bathroom, reappearing minutes later with black eye brows – looking like she used the hook from a plastic coat hanger as her stencil! I would have never gone there! Now I know why the granddaughter wanted me to do her grandmother’s eyebrows so badly.

Grandma was excited, “Now, this is me!”

Her eyebrows were her signature and they had nothing to do with the vertical measurement from the inner corner of her eye, angle from the outer corner of the nose or the iris of the eye upward. And, no one would have recognized her without her brows.

Makeup Trends Come and Go, but True Beauty is Forever

As we move through the ever-changing world of beauty trends, let’s remember that true beauty lies in embracing our authentic selves. Instead of following what everyone else does, let’s celebrate our individuality and unique beauty.

Whether you choose to embrace the latest trends or march to the beat of your own drum, let your beauty shine from within. Remember, it’s not about changing or covering up who you are – it’s about enhancing and highlighting the beauty that already exists within you.

Beauty Hack: Top Secret Ingredient for Glowing Skin

Would you like to know the secret ingredient to looking good, feeling confident and gaining attention?  This works! You’re going to LOVE it!

Are you feeling, Blah? Boring? Maybe you haven’t had a chance to exfoliate (which by the way, is my number one anti-aging skin care tip!); to get that fresh looking skin. I’ve got a beauty hack for you today.

TOP SECRET! We’re going to start with your cream or liquid foundation (it won’t work with powder or loose mineral foundation) and you’re going to go ahead and put some on the back of your hand. One pump (dime size) and then here’s the secret ingredient… it’s oil! I have the acai (ah-sigh-ee) oil with pomegranate (tomorrow I’m going to try Coconut Oil) and it’s going to take one little pump along side the foundation. Get your brush and mix it all together. “Stipple it” and it looks like beautiful flawless skin with a little bit of a glow. The oil doesn’t take away from the coverage it just makes it look more like your skin. It’s glowing. I love it! What do you think? Glowing, right? Try it! You’re going to love it!

Share this hack with your friends and your team and then COMMENT below and tell me which flavor oil you tried.

This is a game changer for you Essential Oil Independent Consultants!!!

P.S. Your skin always needs to be moisturized even if it’s oily. Your skin will over produce oil if it’s not moisturized. That was my #1 takeaway from Aesthetics School.
